Confirmed Events:
Name: Ultimate Coaches and Players Conference
Location: Newton, MA
Date: Saturday, 1/26
Hosts: Tiina Booth and George Cooke (ucpc at buda dot org)
Comments: This will be the second year Tiina and George have put on the UCPC. Last year 200 people came together from around the country to soak in as much Ultimate knowledge as possible. There are seminars, panel discussions, and an Ultimate Expo. This year's list of presenters is amazing and the day should be way too much fun. If you're at all able to go to this event, GO. Oh, and drop by the presentation on how to run a tournament ;) Registration should open on or around December 1st.

Name: Paideia Cup
Location: Paideia School, Atlanta, GA
Date: Saturday and Sunday, 4/12-13
TDs: Dave Clauson (
dclauson at reflectivecorp dot com), Michael Baccarini (baccarini dot michael at paideiaschool dot org), Kyle Weisbrod (weisbrod dot kyle at paideiaschool dot org)
Comments: One of the highest quality Ultimate events I have ever been to. The Paideia Ultimate family pulls out all the stops in putting on their premier event. This will be the third year of the event. Last year 8 open teams and 5 girls teams came in from all over the US. The event was started to bring together high level teams that don't normally play against each other. It'll be neat to see if the west makes it out this year. I brought a club girls team last year and we had a grand time.
UPA Sanctioned: As far as I know it will be.

Name: Darrow Shaker Cup
Location: The Darrow School, New Lebanon, NY
Date: Sunday, 4/20
TD: Drew Koff (koffd at darrowschool dot org)
Comments: This is the best tournament in New England for beginner-level teams. Drew and the rest of Darrow put on a great event that is popupated with fun to play teams. This is the first tournament I bring my new players to even though it's over 6 hours away.
UPA Sanctioned: It hasn't been in the past. Teams have had to send in Certificate's of Insurance.

Date: Saturday and Sunday, 5/3-4
TDs: Tiina Booth (tiinabooth at hotmail dot com), Jim Pistrang (jim at jpcr dot com)
Comments: The oldest and most prestigious Ultimate tournament in the US. Jim and Tiina know how to run a tournament like none-other. This is the event to go to. More teams apply to go than they have spots for. Apply early and write a good bid.
UPA Sanctioned: Nope, but they strongly encourage all players to be UPA members.

Location: St. Johnsbury Academy, St. Johnsbury, VT and Lyndon Institute, Lyndonville, VT
Date: Saturday and Sunday, 5/17-18
TD: Josh Seamon (jseamon at gmail dot com)
Comments: For the first time ever I have been able to secure enough fields to run both the girls and the open divisions at the same time. 16 teams will be playing in each division. Last year we brought in 27 teams from all over the East Coast and Canada. Every team is guaranteed 6 games. We will be running a trade night / dance / dinner on Saturday. Lots and LOTS of information is online at the tournament webpage. The NEPSUL Champs will be run in conjuntion with the SJAI. This brings the team totals to 24 open teams and 16 girls teams. More info on how this will work will be posted on the tournament website soon.

Name: BUDA Division II Champs
Location: ???
Date: ???
TDs: ???
Comments: Last year BUDA created two divisions.
The tournament could be expanded this year. Also, the top two DivII MA teams could possibly be added to the New England Champs. It would be nice to have the DivII champs run at the same time as DivI, but I don't think there are enough fields at Devens -- hard to imagine eh? I think it would be neat to expand the tournment into a weekend event. There really aren't enough of them in New England.
