During the 2005 season it became apparent that Vermont needed an organization to help coordinate and support the various youth Ultimate entities scattered around the state.
In December of 2005, Josh Seamon, the coach of the St. Johnsbury Academy teams, called a meeting of all known Vermont coaches and captains. His goal was to create an organization that mirrored the structure of the NEPSUL and BUDA. Out of this meeting the VYUL was formed.
The goals of the Vermont Youth Ultimate League are to:
1) Help bring member schools closer together, creating a structure that will facilitate and promote association games on a regular basis throughout the spring season.
2) Host a yearly Vermont State Championship tournament.
3) Help support and encourage the growth of youth Ultimate in Vermont by running clinics, providing funding, and through any other means we are able to provide.
4) Create a more formal and consistent format enabling new and old teams to maintain contact from year to year.
