St. Johnsbury UPA Coaching Clinic |
|
On Saturday January 20th I will be running a UPA Coaching Clinic at St. Johnsbury Academy.
Here's what the UPA has to say about the clinics: In 2007 the UPA’s Coaching Certification Program is back with GAIA Ultimate as its title sponsor. Since 2004 the UPA has run 40 clinics throughout the country and certified over 600 coaches and 50 volunteers. We’ve received great reviews on both the clinic as well as the instructors. The GAIA UPA Coaching Corps is a process of educating coaches and volunteers, professionalizing and growing the vocation of coaching, and creating a pool of qualified volunteers to help grow Ultimate. The program consists of 2-½ hour clinics for volunteers and full day clinics for coaches in which they learn skills and techniques to: introduce Ultimate and its skills to new players; teach and maintain Spirit of the Game; interact with and utilize parents; improve the fitness of their team; maintain high professional coaching standards; and behave both ethically and legally while coaching. There is space for 20 coaches and 5 volunteers at each clinic. |

And now a word from the UPA... |
The Ultimate Players Association wants to hear how local league players
feel about the current state of the sport of Ultimate, how the UPA and
other organizers are responding, and what’s important to
them. Please take about 20 minutes to complete
the survey (or the direct link is
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=874582698103) and you'll be entered
in a drawing for some very special thank you gifts including a brand
new iPod Nano, on of two copies of Ultimate: The First Four Decades, or
one of five copies of the 2004-2005 UPA College Championships CSTV
3-DVD set.
